Long before social media or even the internet was thought of, men were finding creative ways to publicly shame women for not wanting to stay with them. As far back as the 1700s there have been countless newspaper articles about “Runaway Wives” leaving their husbands. And just like today when a man takes you out on a date, pays, then tries to claim you just “wanted a free meal” when you don’t want to go home with them, almost every single one of these newspaper ads is all about not letting the woman run up debt in her husbands name and financial control. In today's episode we learn about how difficult it was for a woman in an unhappy marriage in the 18th & 19th centuries. We read a few real newspaper articles from men about their wives that have left them and even a few responses from their wives! Then before jumping into Jo Jam with a couple new music recommendations, Erin reads a few newspaper articles from single men looking for a wife and decides if she would swipe right or left on them! Then at the end of today's episode we get a little spicy in Dish Bish with some fun random questions!
